Our 5 day training programme will provide you with a general introduction to Australian farm work and give you an awareness of what is required to do well in outback Australia.
Most importantly it allows us to assess your skills and attitude. Our employers value our judgement and ability to match you to their roles and working environment.
After receiving your application form we create a summary profile for you, based on the information you have given us. We publish this on our employer members website and email it to all our employer members before you join us at the training farm. We update this when we meet you in person and republish the updated profile.
We have over 2,000 rural employers of all types all across Australia. This typically gives us 60 or more vacancies each week that range from small family farms to some of the largest agricultural enterprises in Australia. Each role will have different requirements, so not all of these roles will suit you. We normally expect to be able to offer you a choice of 2, 3 or 4 jobs that best suit your experience and aspirations. You will be able to speak to these employers about the role they offer before deciding which role to take. Please note that your individual circumstances, skills and other experience may place limitations on the type and number of jobs we can offer you. This is particularly the case if you seek work together with a partner or friend. We are happy to discuss this in more detail once we have received your application form.
Once we have offered you a place on one of our working programmes we guarantee to offer you one or more jobs that suit your skills, experience and aptitude. At least one of these jobs will allow you to gain your second year visa if you are eligible for this.
We offer this guarantee based on confirmation of your abilities and your willingness to engage with our training programme. Ultimately you will be required to engage effectively with your employer in the role offered to you. Our programme requires a certain level of spoken English, physical fitness, willingness to try, to learn, engage with trainers and other staff, and most importantly the ability to work effectively. Please note that your individual circumstances, skills and experience may place limitations on the type and number of jobs we can offer you. This is particularly the case if you seek work together with a partner or friend. We are happy to discuss this in more detail once we have received your application form. |
