Before acceptance: 
In some cases we need to ask for this information before accepting an application- just to be sure that the programme will work for you.


After you have been accepted to the programme:
Completing the profile helps us gather all the final information we need before you come to the training farm. 


What it is:
We use your profile to promote you to our employers. The profile is a summary of your main skills, attributes and experience that is relevant to the outback jobs we offer. It is a very important part of us finding a suitable job for you. 

It should take you 10-20 minutes to complete. Please take the time to give us relevant detail.

    WORK HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE 
    Employers like to see that you have had a job before and that you know how to work 
    Please include the job title/duties/how long you were in this job role for

    Please tell us about the main parts of your work history. Please include you career aims and then mention basic details about your jobs; When, how long for, for who (what company) and what the job you did was.
    Please let us know what stage you are at, what your future plans are or might be. Just a few key points is fine.
    ...just a simple summary...the highest level you have reached, favourite subjects or specialisms and other educational qualifications you have...
    Farmwork / Livestock experience
    What animals have you worked with? how long?
    Paid job/volunteering/family farm?
    Vet work/studies?
    What sort of duties did you perform? mustering? worming? dehorning? administering medication? injecting? shearing? milking- what type of machines? 

    ...tell us about any farm or other outdoor manual work you have done; (what you did, where, how long for)

    Mechanical and machinery experience, including tractors and motorbikes 
    How many times/seasons/months/years/have you worked?
    Did you grow up on a crop farm?
    What brand (make) of tractors have you driven? size/horsepower
    What work have you done? what crops?
    What implements have you used ? front end loaders? seeders? ploughs? slashers? balers?mowers? 
    Any Advanced tractor work such as combine harvesters? contract work?
    Can you repair tractors and other agricultural machinery? please expand on your level of experience basic/advanced?
    Any other machinery? e.g forklift? bull dozers? excavators? loader? 
    Have you driven large vehicles? are you licenced? rigid trucks, semi trucks?  how many tonnes? 
    Any additional qualifications or certificates? licences?


    Motorbike experience
    How often have you ridden?
    What size motorbikes do you ride? e.g 150 cc 
    Manual? Automatic?
    Scooters? Mopeds? Road bikes? Dirtbikes?
    Do you own your own motorbike?
    Do you compete in sporting events with them?
    Do you have experience in mechanical repairs? please expand on your level of experience basic/advanced?
    Any additional qualifications or certificates? licences?

    Approximately how much time have you spent riding manual motorbikes or automatic scooters ?
    ...tell us about any mechanical or machinery / driving experience you have...especially motorbikes and tractors. Include any other machinery you can use too.

    Equine (horse) experience
    For how many years have you been riding?
    Do you go to a riding school – daily, weekly, less often? has there been a gap in time since you last rode regularly? 
    Can you saddle and bridle a horse?
    Have you worked at a riding stables or more professionally as stud groom? volunteer or paid career job?
    Are you used to feeding and caring for a horse, cleaning the stables, tacking up, washing down etc?
    Do you have your own horse/s? How long for? 
    Have you worked/ or ridden/broken in young horses? 
    Have you handled foals/stallions/brood mares? 
    Have you been riding in competitions? what level- local shows? high level?
    Teaching riding to adults/children
    Any dressage, show jumping, cross country, polo, eventing, endurance riding, racing, western riding experience? how much, how long, what have you done?
    Any additional qualifications or certificates?

    ...tell us about your riding skills and experience with horses (what you did, where, for how long etc)...
    some horse employers need to know this; there can be a size limit for some riding jobs

    ...and a few final important questions...
    This is important. Being a smoker does restrict your job opportunities. If you smoke during the training course we will have to declare you as a smoker.
