World Conference in Brisbane - 30 September to 5 October 2024
Hello
We look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane for the 2024 Conference. Here are some details of the programme and what we have been able to arrange so far.
The conference hotel is the Eaton’s Hill Hotel in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. It is a brand new and award-winning hotel with excellent facilities as you can see from the Presentation. The location is good because it is not far from the airport – about 20 minutes – and yet within easy reach of the countryside where we are planning some visits to farms, vineyards, and racehorse training facilities.
We are still working on flight discounts for you and so far, Qatar airways has promised some for both Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class. They have no First-Class service to Brisbane. Please do not book flights before you have the visa!
I hope you will attend and please let us know if you would like to come by completing this form for us. Some extras are available – like arriving a day or two earlier and staying later. $280 per night with breakfast.
We also have a ‘famil’ arranged for the farm training where you will be able to see a group in action on the 8th and 9th October. $500. Transport from Brisbane with overnight accommodation nearby.
WYSTC finishes on 27th September for those who plan to come on from there.
Australian Visa
Everyone needs to have a visa – for some countries it is much easier than others. Please let us know if you require a letter of invitation for the visa which can be applied for by clicking below www.immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-finder/visit
Some visas are free of charge – others cost about $190. (Note often visa charges are increased in July – therefore applying very soon is the best plan.)
Airport transfers
These can be arranged on 29 or 30 September with our own minibuses or at all other times with Con-x-ion Coaches. Taxis would cost about $70.
The cost of the main conference programme is $3500 Australian dollars for the 5 days (30th – 5th). This is just about what it cost last year in Denmark, but exchange rates do vary from time to time and the accommodation is for one night longer. ($1 Australian = 65c US = 56c SWF = 52p UK = 60c Euro.)
At the final night dinner, we would be grateful if you will wear your national costume, if there is one, and if not something that indicates your nationality and be ready for some fun.
