GENRAL FARM WORK - is a pathway to new skills and experiences
Farmwork provides the opportunity to work in and experience a new and unique environment of livestock, machinery and infrastructure.
The work is typically with livestock, farm equipment, machinery or infrastructure but can also be supporting the farmer and family in their day to day life. Livestock includes cattle, sheep, horses and other animals. Machinery includes tractors, dirt bikes, quad bikes, Utes and other machinery. Infrastructure includes fencing, water supply, irrigation, buildings etc.
Farmwork gives an opportunity to be part of Australian Country and outback life living and working closely day to day with Australian Farmers, often as a general assistant. You will need to be motivated and able to cope with some challenges. Farmers are looking for responsible workers who are willing to apply themselves, get involved, work hard and learn fast. Conditions can be tough, the environment remote and sometimes harsh, and the work physical and mentally demanding. It can take a while to adapt, and to learn how to contribute efficiently.
You do not need previous skill or relevant experience, but it helps.
