Medicare is only available for certain countries under Reciprocal Health Care Agreements.
These countries are: UK, Belgium, Finland, Malta, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Slovenia and Sweden. If your country is not on this list - then you are not eligible to apply.

Step-by-step Guide
- Create a myGov account (if you don't have one)
- Go to myGov and create an account.
- You'll be prompted to create a PIN for the myGov app.
- Sign in to myGov
- Sign in to your myGov account on the website or via the Express Plus Medicare app.
- Link Medicare to your account
- From your myGov homepage, select "View and link services".
- Select "Link" under Medicare.
- Follow the prompts and answer the questions to prove your identity.
- Enrol in Medicare
- Once Medicare is linked, select "Enrol in Medicare".
- Follow the prompts to enter your personal details and upload your required identity and residency documents.
What You'll Need
- Identity documents: A current passport or ImmiCard.
- You can check the status of your application by signing in to your myGov account and going to Medicare.
- You will receive your Medicare card in the mail once your application is approved.
