WORK BOOTS - SOME GENERAL ADVICE
There are a wide range of work boots used and available here in Brisbane.
Ankle boots are the normal boot worn in most farming environments, and also horse riding.
Your boots will become your friends. They will keep you comfortable on long tiring days.
You will be working on your feet and on hard ground. It is usually worth investing in good quality boots.
The typical cost you should allow for is AUD $150-300.
Some employers recommend boots without laces. Others do not mind.
Laces can present a safety risk. Steel toe caps are frequently used but are not always regarded as essential.
Our general advice will be to take the safer option wherever possible.
More specialised environments such as dairies may require or provide more specialised footwear.
NB For horse riders it may be worth considering having one pair for riding and one pair for groundwork.
Typical work clothing is shown in the images below.
