4 MONTH 2ND VISA PROGRAMMES

2ND VISA QUALIFYING WORK PROGRAMME
GUARANTEE YOUR 2nd VISA

PLEASE NOTE SPECIAL PRICES FOR MARCH AND APRIL 2020
apply
Completing 88 days or more of GENERAL FARM WORK can qualify you for a 2nd Working Holiday Visa.
Our programme provides you with preparation and a safe, supported guaranteed pathway to your 2nd visa.
The minimum period you will be expected to work is 3 months (almost exactly 88 days), but this programme allows for slightly more than that so that you have some flexibility.

You can expect:
  1. CHOICE: A choice of jobs with known and trusted employers
  2. MATCH: Guaranteed job offers realistically suited to your interests, skills and experience
  3. SAFETY: preparation that gives you practical skills and awareness to start work well on an Australian farm
  4. TRAINING AND ADVICE from experienced farmer / trainers, setting your expectations
  5. FUN: A great week of farm life, sharing the experience with other young people from all round the world
  6. SECURITY with full back up and support in case of questions, difficulties or problems
  7. ACHIEVE your 88 days within 3-4 months (the minimum time)

Pay - you can expect to save up to $6,000 over 88 days

General Farm work jobs pay at award wages (the National wage structure).
This is the minimum requirement to qualify for your 2nd or 3rd visa.
You should expect to be paid at least at minimum wage, however some employers offer more, especially if you are an effective worker.
Put simply, you can expect MINIMUM take home pay of approximately $500 per week after tax, food and accommodation.
This means you can realistically save approximately $6-8,000 while you achieve your 88 days.

What is involved - how it works

Arrival and Welcome
The optional arrival and welcome gets you set up for work and gives you 4 days to relax and enjoy Noosa, one of Queensland's best beach resorts, in a great hostel for 4 days before travelling on to our training farm. We also use this time to set you up with bank accounts, tax file numbers.
(This part of the programme is optional)
The Training Course
You spend 5 days with us at our training farm, 3 hours from Brisbane. This is residential, so food and accommodation is included.

The aim of the course is to provide a general introduction to Australian farmwork. You can expect to learn about and experience:
  • Horses, cattle, sheep
  • Drive tractors, motorbike, quad bikes, farm utes
  • Equipment maintenance and care
  • Work with chainsaws and other small machinery
  • Muster cattle on horses and motorbikes
  • Building and maintaining fences
  • Outback safety, navigation, 2 way radios

This will give you an awareness of what is required to do well in outback Australia, skills that will allow you to be aware of how to be useful immediately when you arrive with your employer. During the training we assess you to match you to roles suit your skills, experience and aspirations.

Notes
The training is 5 days / 4 nights fully residential at our training farm near Gympie,  3 hours north of Brisbane.
We meet / pick up  in Noosa early on Monday morning, and transfer to the farm from there.
The course finishes on a Friday evening with return transport to Gympie, or in most cases, Brisbane, before travelling on to your employer.
The travel to your employer is at your expense, but we will help to arrange it. You may travel independently to and from the training farm in your own vehicle.
Employers, Job offers and our Job Offer guarantee
We have a database of 2,000 employers with a wide range of roles available, typically approximately 50 vacancies each week,  so we can guarantee realistic job offers that suit your skills and abilities.

We create a profile of you that we promote you to this network before you arrive. During the training course we normally expect to offer a choice of 2-3 job offers that suit you. You will speak to the employers with the help of our jobs team and decide which option suits you best before accepting a role.

Our guarantee is that one or more of our employer members will offer you a job that realistically suits your skills and abilities and will enable you to gain your second year visa.

In the unlikely event that we are not able to secure a job offer for you during your training week we may advise you to complete a short period of volunteer work with one of our employers to build up your skills and experience and also to prove your ability to learn and work effectively.
the JOBS
PAY AND CONDITIONS

Qualities and skills that we look for, and expectations

Very Positive attitude - On our training course you will need to show yourself to be willing to engage effectively and safely with farm life and tasks, to try hard and learn well. Our job offer guarantee will not apply if you are not able to do this. We need to witness your qualities.

Previous skills - Ideally you will have some previous relevant skills or experience, but it it NOT essential. This could be farm work, equestrian skills (riding, horse care and ground work), practical and trade skills such as mechanics, welding, building, carpentry, plumbing, electrics etc and/or experience of childcare, babysitting, cooking and domestic work.
If you don't have previous skills or experience you will need to be flexible about the type of job offers you are willing to accept.

English language and driving licence
A level of English appropriate for safety and workplace communication is required.
A full driving licence and experience driving manual vehicles is very important, and skills riding motorbikes, quad bikes or other vehicles are desirable.
Expectations from your Employer
You will need to be willing to work hard. You will need to be fit, have workplace stamina, be prepared to work hard at learning new skills and show a proactive attitude to making yourself useful.

You will be expected to work for 3-4 months in your job, and you may experience a good deal of culture shock when you are there.
Please be aware that farm work is no easy ride and this is a real job for real fair pay. You may not like or enjoy everything you are asked to do, and you may not like everyone you meet.

You will be expected to commit to work for at least 3-4 months in one job, thereby achieving the required number of days to earn your second working holiday visa.
Expectations from Visitoz
are that you will enter into the training course committed and willing to apply yourself to new things, to taking part and getting involved, to working hard, to being sociable and friendly to others.
Also to being fair, respectful, polite, and co-operative and communicate with us readily and honestly.

If, for reasons beyond your control or fault, the job you are offered does not last long enough to achieve 88 days, Visitoz will undertake to provide you with a second job that makes it possible.

If however, you are required to leave the employment for reasons of misconduct or performance below the expected standard VisitOz reserves the right to refuse access to further offers of employment.
